A native of Vero Beach, Chet obtained his real estate license in 1974. He went on to obtain his broker's license and in 1979, along with two partners, opened a real estate company. Since that time, he has become sole owner of Associates Realty and has helped thousands to relocate, find or sell homes and property in the Indian River County area.

Chet has a strong commitment to his profession and his community. He has continued his ongoing education and maintained an active role in his community as evidenced below. Chet holds memberships as Realtor with the Vero Beach-Indian River County Board of Realtors: President-1986; Honor Society since 1985; Director 1984-1987, 1999-2002; MLS Chairman 1984; Grievance Committee; Long Range Planning Chairman; Education Committee; Political Affairs Committee; Legislative Affairs Committee; and Nominating Chairman numerous times. In the Florida Association of Realtors, he has held or holds positions on Education Committee 1988; Communications Committee; Vice President-3 year term--Realtor Institute Subcommittee; Awards Subcommittee; Allied Industries Subcommittee; Vice President-3 year term--Faculty Development Subcommittee; and Honor Society since 1986. He also holds membership with the National Association of Realtors, Tourist Development Council, Chamber of Commerce, United Way Budget Review, Vero Beach Dodgers - Option Play Ball, and Past Chairman Residential Committee Fund-Raising.

Chet's wife, Michelle McRaven Hogan, previously from Daytona Beach, Florida, is a registered nurse. They have two sons, Josh and Eric, and together enjoy many family activities, especially at Dodgertown. Chet's personal hobbies include photography, golf, numismatists (coin collecting), and watching Dodger baseball.
